Who We're Looking For
You're a licensed (or conditionally licensed) therapist in Maine who believes that healing is relational, that good therapy often lives in the body as much as the mind, and that a non-pathologizing lens isn't just a philosophy — it's a practice.
You're also someone who takes their documentation seriously, communicates well with colleagues and admin, and doesn't need to be micromanaged to get things done.
Licensure
LCPC, LCSW, LMFT — or conditional license (LCPC-C, LCSW-C, LMFT-C) — current and in good standing in Maine.
Approaches We Love
• Trauma-informed, somatic, and body-based modalities (EMDR, Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing)
• Expressive and experiential approaches
• ACT, IFS, Narrative Therapy
• Eating disorder and body image treatment
• Couples and family therapy
You don't need expertise in all of these areas. If one or more resonates, we want to hear from you.

Now Hiring: Practice Administrator — Part-Time
Part-Time · Temporary with Permanent Potential · South Portland, ME. Hourly Rate: $22–$25 · In-Person / Hybrid · Start: Early May 2026
About This Role
This is a part-time, temporary position beginning in early May 2026, created to support the practice during a planned maternity leave. We're looking for someone who's a genuine fit for the HSC team — with the real possibility of a longer-term role for the right person as the practice continues to grow.
The Practice Administrator is the heartbeat of our day-to-day operations — the person who keeps things running smoothly so our clinicians can focus on their clients. If you're warm, organized, and thrive in a mission-driven environment, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
• Welcome clients to the practice and create a warm first impression
• Answer client inquiries via phone, voicemail, and email (we use Spruce)
• Support therapists with client bookings, intake and consent forms, and payments
• Process payments and maintain accurate billing records
• Manage scheduling software including clinician schedules and services (SimplePractice)
• Follow up on insurance payment questions with our biller
• Maintain office supplies, clinical files, and a tidy shared space
Who We're Looking For
You're a warm, organized, tech-comfortable person who stays calm when someone calls in a moment of distress. You take pride in keeping things running smoothly and you don't need to be micromanaged to get things done.
• Warm, professional, and calm under pressure — clients reaching out are often in distress
• Detail-oriented, trustworthy, and self-motivated
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively
• Confident with technology — we use SimplePractice, Spruce, Flock, Gmail, and Google Drive
• Experience with an EHR system is a plus (SimplePractice preferred)
• Previous experience in a healthcare, mental health, or human services setting is a plus
What We Offer
• Hourly rate: $22–$25, based on experience
• Flexible scheduling
• Beautiful, thoughtfully designed offices in South Portland with plentiful parking
• Walking access to the Greenbelt trailway
• A warm, supportive team that takes the work seriously without taking itself too seriously
Growth Potential
This role begins as a temporary position covering a maternity leave, but we will be exploring the possibility of finding someone who fits the HSC culture for the long term. As the practice grows, there may be opportunities for expanded responsibilities, increased hours, and a permanent role for the right person.
