Hi, I’m Allie (she/her)
I earned my undergraduate degree in biological sciences, and it genuinely shaped how I saw the world. I was fascinated by the brain and body, by how a heartbeat or a breath could shape the way we feel and move through life. But even as I finished that degree, something in me knew the story was incomplete. I had the science, but I was missing the why: the invisible thread connecting our nervous system to our mind, and our mind to something even deeper. Over the years, life made that question louder. I watched firsthand how tightly the body, mind, and heart are woven together, how a hard day, a hard year, a hard chapter shows up in all three at once. So when the time was right, I went back to school. Not because I needed a new career, but because I finally had the space to chase the question that had been sitting quietly in me: how do we really understand what it means to be human, not just biologically, but wholly?
My niche came together through three pieces that finally connected those questions: attachment work, somatic work, and EMDR. Attachment work helped me understand how our earliest relationships shape the way we love and protect ourselves. Somatic work taught me that our bodies remember what our minds sometimes can't put into words. And EMDR gave me a way to gently help people move through what's been stuck, so painful memories don't have to hold such a tight grip.
At the core of who I am as a therapist is this belief: we don't heal alone. We heal in relationship, in the presence of someone who sees us, stays with us, and doesn't flinch when things get hard. Working with me feels warm, because I mean for it to. I'm not the therapist sitting back at a careful distance. I'm right there with you, engaged, moved by your story, invested in your healing as if it matters to me, because it does. More than anything, I want you to feel safe enough to say the thing you've never said out loud, safe enough to fall apart if you need to, safe enough to sit in silence without feeling like you have to perform being okay. That kind of safety doesn't happen instantly, so we move at the pace of your nervous system. Whatever the day holds, my hope is that you leave feeling understood and less alone than when you walked in.
I work with late adolescents, adults, and couples navigating emotional and relational challenges. My clients are often feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck, and want to find relief and a stronger sense of self. I have a particular interest in working with college age individuals and women navigating relationships, parenting, life transitions, and self esteem.
In my free time you'll find me walking with my two Bichon Frise puppies, reading, listening to a podcast, or traveling whenever I can.
