Embodied Resilience: A Somatic Group Series
Margo Rosingana LCPC-C
Sometimes the body tells the story the mind can’t. For some, that shows up as tension, fatigue, or a persistent sense of being out of sync. For others, it’s heaviness, disconnection, or not feeling safe in your own skin. When the body’s signals are overwhelming or hard to read, it’s easy to reach for coping habits that bring short-term relief but leave you feeling further from yourself.
What if resilience isn’t about toughing it out or getting back to “normal” but about expanding your capacity to stay present through life’s hardest moments?
When the Body Becomes an Ally
This six-session group offers a body-based approach to building resilience for anyone navigating stress, adversity, or the aftermath of difficult experiences. Rather than treating resilience as a fixed trait you either have or don’t, we approach it as something learnable -- a set of practices that live in the body, not just the mind.
Unlike traditional talk therapy, somatic practices focus on sensations, movement, stillness, and breath. By tuning into what the body carries, you begin to release tension, feel safer in your own skin, and experience healing that words alone can’t always reach
Session Themes
Each session explores a different dimension of resilience through gentle movement, guided body awareness, and reflective practice:
Grounding and Safety -- building a shared foundation for the work ahead
The Body’s Own Resilience System -- understanding how your nervous system already knows how to protect and reconnect you
The Full Emotional Spectrum -- making room for every feeling, not just the comfortable ones
Connection and Belonging -- recognizing that resilience isn’t something we build alone
Boundaries as Safety -- learning what it feels like, in your body, to hold your own edges
Meaning and Integration -- carrying the work forward with intention

Who is this for?
You don’t need any movement background or flexibility to join. All practices can be done seated in a chair. This group is for you if:
You’re living with ongoing stress, burnout, or the after effects of a hard stretch of life, and “just relax” hasn’t worked
You’ve tried talking through it and want a way that starts with the body instead
You’re curious about somatic or trauma-informed movement but have never done a group like this before
You want practical tools you can keep using long after the series ends
