You do not have to be good. You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves. – Mary Oliver

Hi. I’m Janet. I’ve always been fascinated by human behavior, the power of stories, and the ways both are expressed through food and the body. My professional journey started with a degree in English and a minor in nutrition from the University of Vermont, with the intention of becoming a health writer. That path eventually led me to graduate school, where I completed my dietetic internship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Over time, my work grew from focusing on behavior change to specializing in eating disorders, body image, and whole-person wellbeing.

In 2020, I became a certified yoga teacher and began integrating movement, breath, and mindfulness into my work. I’ve also trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), and I’m always learning more about the connection between nutrition, the gut-brain axis, and mental health.

In 2024, my son Connor died at the age of 19. This loss changed everything for me and deepened my commitment to walking alongside others in seasons of grief, transition, and self-discovery. My work now feels more personal than ever — about helping people peel back the layers that keep them from revealing themselves fully and shining their light with confidence and ease. At the heart of my mission are self-discovery and autonomy — supporting people in reclaiming what is already theirs and making choices guided by their own feelings, needs, and desires. I believe in pleasure-based living and quality of life. My hope is to remind each person: you matter, your life matters, you belong here.

When I’m not working, you’ll often find me walking or jogging with my dog in the woods, practicing yoga, baking, or listening to audiobooks. I love waking up early and greeting the day from its very beginning. I also spend time “up North” with my partner on his farm — planting, growing, and harvesting food. My dream is to one day host retreats there, bringing together my professional experience and lived wisdom to help others reconnect with themselves and with the natural world.
